Even with our full schedule at the shop, we indulge in a pastime that has become a family passion. We have been racing since 1978 as a family racing team. In 2001, we teamed up with Carl Pecoraro and Crown Racing Enterprises. Thanks to this partnership, 2001 became our most successful year yet. Our team has high hopes of continued success with the support of Carl and his team. In 2002, we were very saddened by the death of Carl. We will continue to race with his memory as he smiles down on us. 2002 was another banner year for our team. We have continued to build on our past success. We have been able to expand our team and will be expanding our schedule in the 2004 season.
We
race Formula-One Tunnel Boats and SST-120 Boats. Our boats have a minimum length
of 16 ft. measured from rear of transom to foremost part of the bow. The boats
may exceed the minimum standard. The boats average 6 ft. wide and have a minimum
weight of 1075 lbs. The weight is all inclusive of the boat, engine, fuel, and
driver. They have a top speed of 140 mph and can turn 180 degrees pulling up to
4.5 G's. Formula-One Tunnel Boats can turn harder than any other race vehicle in
the world. This style of racing boat is also one of the best equipped. They are
equipped with safety cells and restraint systems to protect the driver in case
of a crash. Some drivers use an air system to breath under water in the case of
a crash. All boats have radio systems to communicate with crew chief n shore
while racing. The crew chief acts as a spotter to add safety to the races.
